SANTA BARBARA POLO CLUB
Okay, so full disclosure: I did not play at Santa Barbara, but I did stalk it this winter! I was in LA for an awards dinner and even though it was totally the off-season I couldn’t help myself but to make the hour and a half drive up the coast to check it out anyway.
The club sits right along the famous 101, the highway that snakes the coast of California all the way from San Francisco to San Diego. Driving that stretch of road should definitely be on your bucket list, as it is absolutely breathtaking. The Santa Barbara area did not disappoint in that respect. I was a little disappointed that the club is on the opposite side of the ocean as the 101. For some reason I had it in my head that the club was actually on the shore. Either way, the area and club had such a great vibe. In my next life I totally want to come back independently wealthy and live in one of these coastal beach towns! I can’t wait to come back to Santa Barbara when there’s polo happening- and maybe, just maybe, get in a chukker or two.
